This lodge is one of a chain of large impersonal facilities built by the government in the 1980's, presumably to service a low-end packaged holiday market.
Modernistic public areas are interestingly built into a large kopje and surrounded by military style billet blocks containing around 80 rooms.
Serengeti Wildlife Lodge is not somewhere that we feel delivers a great safari experience, although Mar/May when rain makes camping less attractive and the prices here at the lodge are exceedingly low, it can become a real possibility.
