This area is known as the Northern Corridor, since it is the route by which the migration passes north to Jun/Jul and south from Oct/Nov the Maasai Mara in Kenya.
Largely since the border crossing is closed, only around 5% of the total traffic into these northern parks heads as far north, which makes this is a really pleasant backwater.
The most scenic and productive safari areas are generally around Lobo, although
Lobo Lodge itself is not great.
There are three good quality camps located outside the park in the hills to the east ...
Soit Sambu,
Olosokwan and
Klein's ... which are able to offer walking and night safari, making them an interesting addition to a longer trip.
