This lodge is one of a chain of large impersonal facilities built by the government in the 1980's, presumably to service a low-end packaged holiday market.

Modernistic public areas are interestingly built into a large kopje and accompanied by three blocks containing around 80 rooms.

Lodges this large are not normally our thing, but Lobo is an exception ... it has such a good location, reasonably interesting design, low occupancy rates and modest prices ... that we quite often end up using it in mid-price safaris that head this far north.
