The arm of the Serengeti which stretches out towards the shores of Lake Victoria is known as the Western Corridor.

This particular area comes to life in May/Jun, when the migration is really on the march northwards. Emerging from the valleys south, the herds hit the Grumeti river, edging east and gathering until crossing becomes unavoidable. A favourite time for crocs.

For high end safaris during this migration time we tend to use one of the lodges out in the corridor ... Grumeti River Camp for chic or Nomad Mbalageti Camp for luxury mobile.

But more often than not we base our safaris in Central Serengeti areas and allow enough time to raid west.
