Being the first camp to be set up in the park, for years Tarangire Safari Lodge enjoyed the prime location at the northern end of the central river valley.
Now that a greater level of safari traffic has been established in the park, the central nature of this location is not necessarily all good news.
The lodge itself is large and rather dated. It is perhaps directed more towards domestic and expat customers than international guests.
We rarely use this lodge despite the apparently tempting prices.
