Lemosho C approaches the mountain for the first few nights along the regular trail, but instead of heading around the southern slopes and hitting the summit from Barafu Camp, this variant heads directly up the Western Breach, camping in the crater itself before a daylight ascent to the summit.
The route is extremely dangerous because of exposure on the Western Breach and extreme altitude of the crater camp. Only a couple of high quality operators offer this route and even they experience a significant death rate.
