Machame is a fair sized village which backs up against the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro in Northern Tanzania.

The park gate here acts as the trail foot for the Machame route, one of the two main high-volume low-quality routes on the mountain.

Since we very rarely outfit climbs on this route, we have little need to include any Machame lodges in our trips.
