Udzungwa is a small national park which encompasses an upland area of particular scientific interest due its diversity of small mammals, birds and reptiles.
There is no road access, but a small network of hiking trails through the mountainous terrain and pristine forests.
Most visitors stay at a guesthouse outside the park gate and go on a single day hike to the top of the waterfalls, but it is possible to undertake longer multiple day hikes, camping along the way.
Although we do like this little park, we find that in the final analysis it rarely manages to make it into a trip ... but do feel free to ask.
