Uganda is an absolute jewel of a country. Along the western side of the country especially the volcanic landscapes are awesome, with dramatic mountain peaks, lush tropical forests, flooded calderas, broad lakes, open savanna and verdant farmlands.
Obvious highlights include gorilla tracking in
Bwindi Forest and chimpanzee tracking at
Kibale Forest amongst other places. Savanna landscapes at
Queen Elizabeth and
Murchison Falls national parks provide more conventional safari environments, whilst the white water rafting on the Nile below
Jinja is amongst the finest in the world.
Because safari in Uganda is primarly done overland, travel here tends to be adventurous and extremely varied. A whole two weeks here should still leave you wanting more.
