Shoebill Island Camp is located in the Bangweulu Swamp area in northern Zambia.
This simple camp is set out on an island in the wetlands. The main reason that most people visit is to get a glimpse of a the rather bizarre looking shoebill stork. Actually the wetlands are interesting for a much broader range of game and birding.
For the vast majority of visitors to Zambia however, Bangweulu and more specifically Shoebill Island Camp is of rather too peripheral an interest to warrant the time and expense needed to get here.
