Songwe Point is located in a spectacular location on a promontory overlooking the Zambezi Gorge a short distance downstream from the Victoria Falls.
It may seem unattractive to describe Songwe as a kind of mock African village, but actually this place is cool, quirky, full of character and intimacy. We use Songwe for guests who are looking for something out of the ordinary, especially families whose children can be trusted not to fall into the gorge and paleontologists who will marvel at the stone tools that litter the area.
Songwe burned down in Sept 2008 and we are unaware of any plans to rebuilt at present.
