Thorntree is located on the north bank of the Zambezi river about 14km upstream from the Victoria Falls.
This is the 'upmarket' sister lodge for The Waterfront, with pleasant waterfront rooms and a decent bar area.
In reality, Thorntree falls a long way short of being upmarket in terms of quality and we reckon it to be considerably overpriced.
The lodge is also home to an elephant riding safari, which although run apparently very well, like all of these pet-the-animal experiences leaves us a bit cold.
