This Central Sector has the highest density of both game and visitors.
Peak dry season July to September this area should usually be either combined with more remote camps in the northern or southern sectors or even avoided altogether. Green season December to May traffic is generally pretty low and access to the all-weather roads in this area becomes important.
Our preferred top end lodge here is Nkwali Camp, whilst for groups Luangwa Safari House and Robin's House are excellent. All avoid the busy main gate area by using a private pontoon across the river.
