Kafunta River Lodge is located across the river from the central sector of South Luangwa National Park and is open year round.
The lodge is large by local standards, with twelve rooms and is rather functional but decent in design. The focus here is on vehicle safari only, with walking out of sister camp Kafunta Island just to the south.
Kafunta provides a decent mid-price option in this area, not quite to the quality of lodges such as Nkwali Camp and not as simple or cheap as Flatdogs.
