Kilindi
The thing about Kilindi is, that nobody seems to have heard about it yet, the locals, the taxi drivers and other lodge owners.

I only popped in for a little peek round but firstly had to endure a very long and very bumpy taxi ride down a track. I'm told that upon the hotel opening, this will be either tarmac/gravelled over and I could see this was in the process of being started.

On arrival, the first thing you notice in the distance are the little white dome roofs scattered about the landscape heading down to the ocean, all with bright colourful shutters. When I arrived the tide was out, but when the tide comes in, the views are stunning.

Set amongst lovely grounds and gardens are 15 suites. There's lots of paths and as you head down them, you come to a beautiful antique wooden front door, the entrance to each suite. I seem to remember each suite has three sections to it. The first is the beautiful bedroom, very simple but stylishly furnished, the best feature being the huge 3 piece shutter door at the bottom of the bed which opens on to a private plunge pool overlooking the ocean. A huge bed with big white fluffy pillows, sumptious white cotton duvet, rather like sleeping on a big white fluffy cloud.

From the bedroom, opposite you have the bathroom which is open to all the elements, very spacious, shower in the middle, wash basins overlooking the ocean.

You then have a wonderful dining/relaxing lounge area which is again open to the elements, has a large comfy day bed looking out to the ocean, beautiful intricate tables, chairs, sunlounger and with an almost constant cooling breeze is the perfect place to unwind and get stuck into a good book.

Then up a few stairs, on the roof of the lounge area is a little sundeck with the shade of a sail hanging above, again with stunning views when the tide is in.

There's beautiful plants and greenery beginning to creep up the white dome buildings and lots more are being planted to create a wonderful garden throughout.

The swimming pool is huge and surrounding it, is a large decked area all overlooking the ocean and very spectacular.

Walking in the main lounge area, there's leather sofas and more places to sit and unwind and from here, leads through to the most spectatular bar with a water feature behind. Also, on the next level there's a large very spacious restaurant area inside and out. The Food and Beverage Manager Russell and Head Chief are creating a fabulous menu catering for all tastes and I can thoroughly recommend the seared tuna fish salad, utterly divine!!!

Heading for the spa, you'll wander along under sails as shade, and there's due to be a wide choice of treatments available.

The beach is tidal and I'm so pleased I stayed till the afternoon and expereinced high tide, it totally chances the landscape and is absolutley stunning.

I was lucky enough to meet Bobby, Nora, Russell and the Head Chef and I had a wonderful afternoon. I have to admit to being blown away when I first arrived and it wasn't even open, so when it's all completed, it's set to be awesome on all levels, but that's my personal opinion.

Would I stay here, I'd love too but it's a little out of my budget.
