Favorite!
This was my favorite camp! Right in the middle of the action. How many people can say they they get to go to sleep to the sounds of lions, hyenas, zebra, and cape buffalo. It may have been a little unsettling at first but one of my favorite stories of the safari was the cape buffalo accidentally hitting their horns on our tent spikes as they grazed right outside our tent at night. The staff was great and so was the food!

Favourite stop of the holiday. Lots of drama and excitement in the evenings and at night with lions, buffalo and zebra around the tents. Food was better than we expected.
Staff very friendly.
Hot showers and star gazing in the evening before dinner were great.
Pity we couldn't have had all 4 of us in 1 tent though rather than split up.

Base camp to explore the Serengetti.
Great location for a camp, however tents too close together. Staff are not available when customers are in camp? The only staff member interaction came from the night watchman (Popeye). Food could use an upgrade. At the bottom of my list for all the camps I have stayed in.

Absolutely bad food experience (also packet lunch).
The location is perfect for access central serengeti.
We have seen a lot of cats in this region.

The camp is beautiful but the quality of food and the cooking should improve in relation to the price.

We have passed this feedback through to the camp owners and will keep an eye on things. Judging by other feedback and our own personal experiences, this would appear to have been a single off day.

It should be noted that occasional lapses in service are slightly more likely to happen at camps in this middle price range rather than at nearby Olakira Serengeti and other similar camps which are twice the price and more.

A very nice place and well layed out. Tents are very good and people very friendly. Food is very good. We stayed here one night on our way up north and being september didn't expect to see very much but the next morning safari we saw a group of over 10 lions, 3 cheeta's and 1 leopard just in a range of 1 mile of each other not far from the camp: very exceptional!

A mouse and lions too!
A very comfortable camp with good food and friendly staff. The children got a little freaked out by a mouse which decided to scuffle about the tent in the middle of each night that we were there but this was all put in to perspective when our guide told us about the lion tracks he had seen through the kitchens area of the camp.

It was a great experience to be in camping in the middle of the Serengeti surrounded by the animals and hearing lions and hyenas close by each night. On our last morning we were able to watch zebras and hartbeast grazing at the edge of the camp.

Ronjo Camp : JUN09
On our Safari, we were so lucky to have the best driverguide of Africa! Thanks to Edward Wenga of Mount Kilimanjaro Safari Club, we had a lot of unforgettable moments with Africa's animals. We stayed at the following places ......

Ronjo Camp - a special place in the middle of Serengeti's wild animals

Ronjo Camp
The first night we were the only guests, which was quite surprising, as I thought it was filling up when we booked. The second night was full, however. Staff was nice but not as attentive as other places we stayed, and food was pretty good but not great. But, as we were in a tented camp, so we weren't there for a fine dining experience, anyways.
