Aeroclub Wilson Airport
is located in the Nairobi area of central Kenya.

Situated adjacent to Wilson Aerodrome, the origin of most domestic flights within the country, the primary reason to stay here is in order to overnight between flight connections, notably those guests arriving into Kenya in the evening and connecting out to the safari areas next day.

The location may not be aesthetically great, but you will spend a lot less time having to negotiate the notorious rush hour traffic than if you stay in the city centre. The hotel itself is simple but really quite interesting. This genuinely is the club patronised by pilots from back in the colonial era. There is a modest bar, restaurant and swimming pool, plus functional accommodation in around 20 guest rooms, all very well priced. Being able to wake up, walk around the the terminal to check in and then return for a leisurely breakfast is an enormous advantage compared with the alternative of struggling through the rush hour traffic.

The main potential downsides relate to the simplicity of the place, which is hopefully plain to see in the imagery. Naturally there is also quite a lot of noise from the aerodrome during daylight hours, the lodge is literally on the runway adjacent to the terminal.
