Nxai Pan Camp is located in the Nxai game reserve in central Botswana.
Set on the western border of Nxai Pan itself, this is the only permanent camp in the reserve.
June to October this area becomes very dry and harsh, making a startling contrast to the waterworlds of Okavango
. With the migratory herds moving away in search of better grazing, only desert specialists remain to tough out the dry season.
November to May rain fills the seasonal waterholes turns the plains green. Huge numbers of animals migrate into this area from Chobe
, making it a really prime location for gameviewing.
This high specification permanent camp opened in February 2009. It is under the same ownership as Lebala Camp
and Kwara Camp
, with which it is most commonly combined.
