Shimba Lodge is located in the Shimba Hills, around 25km inland from Diani Beach on the southern coast of Kenya.
Under the same ownership as the incredibly disappointing Treetops in the Aberdares, this is another large wooden construction overlooking an illuminated waterhole. Actually the place is rather more pleasant than its more illustrious cousin, with elevated walkways giving good views onto the tree canopy and a nice walk though the forest to some nearby falls.
But overall this is not somewhere to which we feel any great attraction, being all a little too large and mainstream.
