North Kenya is an extremely remote region of forest clad mountains ranges and dramatic volcanoes, standing amongst vast parched grasslands, arid rock and sand deserts.

This is not an easy, cheap or particularly safe area to travel through, so much so that we do not presently offer any overland trips here, despite the obvious allure of such expeditions.

The only sensible mode of access at present is to fly into the handful of high end lodges in the upland forest islands of the Mathew's Range and South Horr areas.

More inaccessible areas include the mysterious Lake Turkana South, the broad emptiness and fascinating peoples of the Chalbi Desert and camel racing at Maralal.
