Okaukuejo Restcamp is located in Etosha national park in northcentral Namibia.

The most westerly of the three main parks authority restcamps, Okaukuejo is also the least attractive by some distance.

The sealed road from Windhoek leads right up to the entrance gate, bringing hoardes of tourists in buses, bakkies and sedans into this enormous facility during the high season June to October.

There are 46 rooms, 55 chalets and a large campground, providing a total capacity for over 500 people. The place is best known for its floodlit 'stadium waterhole', a popular meeting point in the evening hours. Strangely the most expensive chalets are clustered around this busy area.

Okaukuejo Restcamp is symptomatic of all that is wrong with Etosha. It is reasonably well operated, but massively overlarge and really not capable of providing anything approximating to a decent quality wilderness experience.
