Skeleton Coast North is perhaps the greatest wilderness area in Africa.

This private concession includes the northermost 400km of the Namibian coastline up to Angola. It is an utterly wild and savage place whose beaches are littered with shipwrecks and whalebones.

The whole area contains just two small camps, the iconic Skeleton Coast Camp and the more basic Skeleton Coast Research Camp, both of which can only be accessed by light aircraft

Inland from here, the area around the village of Purros, which in itself is a fabulous part of the world, is open to public access and contains a number of accommodation options, the most upmarket of which is Okahirongo Elephant Lodge.

Or you can access these inland areas as part of one of our Kaokaland Expeditions.

Take a look at the guidebook below for more detailed information, or use the lodges link for an overview of all the accommodation in the area.
