Royal Madikwe is located in the Madikwe Game Reserve to the north of South Africa.
Set in the western sector of the reserve, this lodge is only available for rental in its entirety to private groups of up to ten guests in 5 suites with aircon and minibars, one with adjoining kids bunkroom and a separate pilot's room. Public areas include lounge, dining room, outside terraces and large pool.
Royal Madikwe is undeniably a high quality offering, but does seem surprisingly commercial for a bush home type of experience, with curio shop, cigar lounge, wine cellar etc. More like a private lodge in fact.
