Mnemba Island Lodge is located off the northeast coast of Zanzibar.
This famous and very exclusive beach retreat certainly enjoys a privileged position. The white-sand beach here is perhaps the finest we have ever seen, whilst the surrounding coral atoll provides some of the best coral garden and big blue diving in the region. The centre of the island is unfortunately covered in casuarina rather than palm trees, but otherwise it is very hard to find fault. Evidently the many turtles who chose to nest here also add their endorsement.
This is barefoot luxury at its very best, with the emphasis being as much on what is not here. Elegant simplicity is the key. But what makes Mnemba so incredibly relaxing is that after a very short time you realise that staff here know how to look after you better than you know yourself.
We would love to be able to offer the Mnemba Island Lodge experience to more of our guests, it really is rather special, but the price certainly limits its appeal.
