Grumeti River Camp is located in the Serengeti West area of northern Tanzania.
Pleasantly set amongst riverine forrest on an oxbow lake close by to the Grumeti river, this luxury camp provides stylish accommodation and extremely high levels of service.
During May/Jun the migration should be coming through the area on the way north, making this one of the prime spots to catch river crossings. Getting availability at this time can be a real mission.
At other times of the year Grumeti is something of a backwater, perhaps worth visiting in combination with other more epicentral locations in the greater Serengeti, but to be honest rather peripheral.
Grumeti River Camp is a top quality spot, one which we would use a lot more during the migration season if only we could get the rooms.
