Lake Manze Camp is located in the Selous game reserve in southern Tanzania.
Situated at the heart of the core game area, this simple camp is aimed at a pretty outdoorsy customer, with a simple build, easy-going hosting and an intimacy which comes from having just twelve rooms ... small for a camp at this price level.
Motorboat safari on the lake can be first class, with a particularly good chance of up-close encounters with elephant. Vehicle safari should be as good as anywhere in the Selous, whilst walking safari around the lake can also get rather interesting.
Downsides are that the level of guiding can be quite variable and being at the centre of the gameviewing action means that vehicles can cluster around major sightings.
Lake Manze Camp is the standout value option in the Selous and works really well in combination with
Selous Impala Camp for 4 to 6 nights total.
