Zoe's Camp (also known as Greystoke Mahale Camp) is located in Mahale Mountains national park in western Tanzania.
This place is arguably our favourite camp in all Africa.
Set in palm trees at the back of a ging clear lake and white-sand beach, this extremely funky little place has real spirit and panache.
Most importantly, you can walk right out of the back of camp and into the forest in search of chimpanzees, one of the greatest nature experiences on the planet.
Obviously at these prices Zoe's Camp is not for everyone, but it is one of those rare places which we would recommend splashing out on if you possibly can. It is life-punctuating.
The camp is accessed by a twice weekly flight from Arusha, often in combination with Chada Camp in Katavi, making an absolutely superb but pricey seven night combination.
