South Luangwa is generally considered to be the finest park in Zambia, set in a broad valley, bordered by the Rift Escarpment and centred on the languid meandering Luangwa river.
A really rich and diverse range of game is present and very visible, especially along the river during the dry season Jun/Nov.
A good safari usually includes camps in two or even all three of the park sectors ...
South Luangwa Central is closest to the the main airstrip at Mfuwe, provides the most solid gameviewing, but also takes the majority of the visitor traffic.
South Luangwa North experiences relatively low traffic volumes and is home to a good range of high quality camps.
South Luangwa South also has relatively low visitor traffic and contains several high quality small camps.
