AmaKhosi Safari Lodge
is located in the Pongola area of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa.

AmaKhosi is a private wildlife reserve which extends over and area of 100 square kilometres. The terrain here is quite undulating, with hills separated by stream-cut gorges, large patches of hardwood forest and some more open scrub and modest open grasslands. The area is home to a broad range of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, southern white rhinos and buffaloes.

AmaKhosi Safari Lodge is a high quality facility with extensive public areas leading out to a nice swimming pool above the river. There is also a very substantial separate spa and gym facility. Guest accommodation is in six suites and two slightly larger honeymoon suites, all with aircon.

Activities include vehicle safari, walking safari, night vehicle safari and cultural interaction with the local Zulu people.

AmaKhosi Safari Lodge is one of the highest quality safari options in KwaZulu Natal. It's relatively remote location, around 50km south of the main entry into Swaziland, means that it tends to most commonly be included in self-drive trips. For this reason the prices are relatively low for a place of this quality.

As with all relatively small fenced reserves, this cannot not be considered a true wilderness, but it does nonetheless deliver a very high quality experience.
