is located in the Windhoek
area in the Southeast
region of Namibia
Situated close to the main dirt road at the top of a high pass on the road to Sossusvlei
, some 20km southwest of the city, this reasonably pleasant little place has stylish public areas and decent rooms, something of a hybrid between a guest farm and a proper lodge.
In recent years the lodge has become best known for its association with the Cheetah Conservation Fund project to release cheetah into the Namibrand
reserve to the southwest, with groups of animals using the large fenced areas here as a half way house on their way back to the wild.
Amani Lodge can be a convenient first or last night on a self-drive trip for guests who don't want to stay in Windhoek itself.
