is located in the Erongo
area in the Western
region of Namibia
This well-known ranch was one of the first to open its doors to visitors in this area, largely thanks to the publicity gained in the landmark publication "Rock Paintings of Southern Africa".
The rock-art is largely contained in Phillip's Cave, a short drive from the lodge. Also in the area are various unusual and picturesque rock outcrops, best known amongst which is the Bulls' Party, which are well worth exploring.
The lodge setting amongst rounded granite boulders is attractive, but the 10 guest rooms and public area are clean but functional and rather less inspiring than the surroundings. There is also a campground.
Ameib Ranch is unfortunately rather too simple to attract an international clientele, we tend to use the higher rated Erongo Wilderness Lodge
to the northeast.
