is located in the Central
area of the Natal
region in South Africa
Although this large area of northcentral KwaZulu Natal does in parts have quite a lot to recommend itself scenically, it is its turbulent history which tends to pre-occupy the minds of most visitors. The area contains some superb lodges, which specialise in bringing to life both the battlefield history and the Zulu culture.
We tend to include this area in trips with reasonable regularity, there is still a steady stream of people who are sufficiently interested in the Battlefields to warrant coming this far off the beaten track.
All of these trips are self-drive and most combine lodges in this area with others in the Drakensberg Mountains
to the west.
However we rarely find ourselves recommending the private wildlife reserves or towns in this area.Accommodation
