Belmond Khwai River Lodge
is located in the Okavango Khwai River
area of the Okavango Delta
in northern Botswana
It is a comfortable permanent lodge is beautifully situated alongside the Khwai River. The wildlife viewing here can be very strong during the Jun/Oct dry season, with a special reputation for elephants, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas and wild-dogs. The lodge itself offers an unusual level of conventional comforts including aircon in the tents.
The main potential downsides at Belmond Khwai River Lodge are the high prices, the heavy and outdated build of the lodge, variable service levels and the fact that you are likely to encounter significant vehicle traffic whilst out on safari, with vehicle clusters on major sightings, which considerably reduces any sense of wilderness. There is also likely to be much weaker wildlife viewing during the Nov/Apr green season and the potential for flood failure some years.UpsidesActivitiesDiningDownsidesSeasonsPricesTrips
