Boundary Hill Lodge
is located in the Tarangire
area of Northern Tanzania
Sited on a hillside overlooking the reserve from outside the western boundary, this camp certainly has some drama.
Approaching rear, public areas sit at the top of the hill. They feature a rather unusual blend of natural stone and local bricks and are reasonably pleasant, if a little cold.
The rooms are arranged at various levels across the hill, some dramatically perched above sheer drops. They are rather more welcoming, reasonable decor and big picture windows providing great views.
The lodge is part owned by the local community, which in return has set aside a considerable area of land for wildlife. We would love to support this project, but the reality is that the lodge is not really up to standard.
Another negative is the distance between here and the core wildlife viewing areas inside the reserve.
