is located in the Savuti
area of Chobe National Park
in northern Botswana
Around 35km to the north of the core Savuti area, Chobe National Park reaches out to touch the Linyanti Waterfront, another area which is renowned for excellent wildlife during the Jun/Oct dry season, especially elephants, giraffes, wild-dogs, lions, buffaloes and zebras.
This simple permanent tented camp is situated adjacent to the main campsite here on the Linyanti Waterfront.
Approaching from the vehicle turnaround we first arrive at the central mess, a large canvas and timber structure which contains the main lounge and dining areas. Out front there is a very nice camp-fire area above the river.
Guest accommodation is in just five Meru tents, raised up on low decks and accessed via a network of sandy pathways. Out front there is a small verandah area, with wooden door leading into the main sleeping area, which remarkably is fitted with aircon. A zippered 'door' leads through to an inside bathroom with conventionally plumbed basin, bath and toilet, with an outside shower to the rear.
The camp has generator power and a central station for charging electronic equipment. There is no wifi, internet connection or mobile phone reception.
The camp is operated by SKL Group, who are one of the main campground operators in this part of the world. Guest reviews speak of excellent staff and decent quality food.
The camp is geared up to receive both self-drive and fly-in guests, the latter usually arriving via Saile Airstrip, which is about 2hrs to the north.
It offers guided vehicle safari and motorboat safari.
