is located in the Savuti
area of Chobe National Park
in northern Botswana
This simple permanent tented camp is situated adjacent to the main campsite here in Savuti.
Approaching from the vehicle turnaround we first arrive at the central mess, a large canvas and timber structure which contains the main lounge and dining areas. Out front there is a raised deck and camp-fire area above the river.
Guest accommodation is in just five Meru tents, raised up on low decks and accessed via a network of sandy pathways. Out front there is a small verandah area, with zippered 'doors' into the main sleeping area, which remarkably is fitted with aircon. A further zipper leads through to an inside bathroom with conventionally plumbed basin, bath and toilet, with an outside shower to the rear.
The camp has generator power and a central station for charging electronic equipment. There is no wifi, internet connection or mobile phone reception.
The camp is operated by SKL Group, who are one of the main campground operators in this part of the world. Guest reviews speak of excellent staff and decent quality food.
The camp is geared up to receive both self-drive and fly-in guests. It offers guided vehicle safaris.
