is located in the Fish River Canyon
area in the Southern
region of Namibia
Set within the privately-owned 1260 square kilometre Gondwana Canyon Park, this lodge is adjacent to the eastern access road.
It is simpler, smaller, cheaper and could be considered a good deal cooler than nearby Canyon Lodge
. The place is strewn with memorabilia, most notably in the bar, which is filled by an impressive collection of old vehicles. The 24 rooms are in buildings around the central driveway and are clean and simple.
Activities include walking, vehicle safari and horse-riding around the reserve, guided trips to the canyon viewpoints and even rhino tracking.
Canyon Roadhouse has an atmosphere reminiscent of a 1950's American motel. It is a genuinely interesting little place and very good value for money.
