Cape Cross Lodge
is located in the Cape Cross
area in the Western
region of Namibia
This relatively stylish and pleasant lodge is just a couple of kilometres north of the main seal colony. The main public areas, inside and out, are filled with interesting items of beach-combed booty, from whale bones to old bottles. Of the 20 rooms, the first floor suites are the nicest, with high ceilings and balconies overlooking the ocean.
One thing you have to factor into your thinking is that the weather here is usually pretty grim, with thick fog in the morning and howling winds for much of the rest of the day. Think yourself lucky if you ever manage to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the sunset. On the other hand, when conditions are at their most grim the place takes on a pleasantly cosy atmosphere.
We occasionally use Cape Cross Lodge for one night in self-drive trips transiting between Sossusvlei
to the south and Skeleton Coast National Park
to the north.Prices
