Cape Riviera
is located in the Oranjezicht area of Cape Town in the Western Cape of South Africa.

This lodge is centred on a lovely 1904 villa overlooking the reservoir and with great views across town. Public areas are classic Art Deco, especially the impressive tiled hallway. The handful of rooms in the villa are simple but authentic.

Behind the old house a large modern extension provides further accommodation on three floors, taking the total room count to eleven, with a further pool in the courtyard in between to add to the one out front.

Cape Riviera is a nice enough little place, but in our opinion its attractiveness has been severely compromised by the lack of architectural elegance demonstrated in the boxy concrete extensions. A real missed opportunity. The guest-house seems to be primarily focussed on the business market, a function which it seems to serve well enough.
