De Hoop
Nature Reserve is located on the Whale Coast in the Western Cape of South Africa.

This wonderful 340 square kilometre coastal reserve, lying some 250km east of Cape Town, is the wilderness highlight of this part of the coast.

It is comprised mainly of rare fynbos vegetation, with its myriad of 1500 rare and endemic plant species. There are also 86 mammal species including bonteboks and cape mountain zebras, plus 260 bird species. It is also the most aesthetically pleasing location from which to view whales from the shore July to October, although from a greater distance than other locations. If blissful coastal isolation is what you crave then look no further.

Activities on the De Hoop Nature Reserve include gentle vehicle safari, sand-boarding, cave tours, snorkelling, mountain-biking, coastal hiking and whale-watching from Jun/Nov.

Morukuru Ocean House ... is a fabulous private house rental, fully serviced and very high quality, for groups of up to eight adults and four children.

Opstal Manor House ... is the best of the accommodation options down at the central farmstead, occupying the main house and suitable for groups of up to four guests, with self-catering being optional due to the proximity of the main restaurant.

Opstal Dassie Suite ... is another really good option at the central farmhouse, ideal for couples.
