is located in the Sossusvlei
in the Southwest
region of Namibia
Set in open grasslands 5km east of the main gate into the reserve, this very pleasant modern lodge is aimed primarily at South African self-drivers.
There are 24 very rather nice self-catering rooms, each with vehicle access and braai areas.
Public areas include a pool, but no bar or restaurant. Meals can be taken at the nearby Sossuvlei Lodge, or you can pre-book a chef to prepare dinner and breakfast at your room.
Desert Camp may be a little too close to the main action areas than would be ideal, but it is an excellent option for independent self-drivers. However if you are not intent on cooking all your own meals, staying here can be a bit of a palaver and perhaps it would be better to look towards one of the other lower cost options such as Desert Homestead
