Dugong Beach Lodge
is located on the Linene Peninsular, around 30km south of Vilanculos in the Bazaruto
area of Southern Mozambique
Set within the small Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary, this lodge is on the inland side of the peninsular and looks west over mangrove forests and the mainland, rather than out to the ocean, which means that it is better protected from onshore winds.
The substantial main building contains comfortable lounge and dining areas, leading out on to decks with a decent swimming pool and a large jetty out across the lagoon.
Guest accommodation is in a total of 12 rooms in two different specifications ...
Beach Chalets : 10 : These rooms are ranged either side of the main building and are accessed along boardwalks from the rear. They feature indoor and outdoor bathrooms, private terraces, beach salas and steps down to the beach.
Beach Villas : 2 : At either end of the property, these larger units feature two bedrooms and much large private decks with plunge pools.
Activities include marine safaris, island picnics, dhow sailing, hobie sailing, snorkelling, wind-surfing, para-sailing, kayaking, guided nature walks and modest vehicle safaris.
Access is by means of a 45 minute motorboat transfer from the town of Vilanculos over on the mainland coast, which is directly connected by air with the Kruger area of South Africa.
Dugong Beach Lodge is a relatively high quality property which really does have a pleasantly remote feel and is substantially lower cost than the top end lodges out on the nearby islands.SeasonsPrices
