The Enasoit Conservancy is a small private ranch that lies around 25km north of the town of Nanyuki, a very high-end operation, carefully created by its Swiss owners and elegantly hosted. The whole reserve is usually booked in its entirety by a single group, who have the run of the two accommodation options.
The main camp is set amongst open grasslands, with a lavish tented mess and several guest tents overlooking a very active waterhole.
A second lodge, built of stone under thatch, is set in intensively cultivated gardens on higher ground. Again it has very comfortable public areas and several lovely guest rooms, but also features a pool.
Activities are centred on vehicle safari and walking safari in the conservancy, plus horse-back safari and other activities also being possible.
The main potential downsides are that Enasoit is a small and fully fenced reserve and human habitation is not too distant, both of which server to greatly reduce any sense of wilderness.
