Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel
is located in Nairobi in central Kenya.

Situated in the centre of the city, this historic hotel dates from the early colonial period, acting as the hub for social activity amongst the British ruling elite right up to independence in the 1960's.

These days it remains a decent hotel, but one which uses its historic past as a license to overcharge quite considerably. The reality is that a trail of fires, rebuilds and extensions, as well as encroachment by surrounding high rises has left the place a shadow of its former self and really not worth the premium. The nearby Fairview Hotel actually offers a more authentic colonial environment at a much better price.

If you specifically need to stay in the centre of town then this is a good and reliable choice.

If you are simply looking for an overnight when connecting to international flights, then you need to be aware that the journey to and from the airports can get pretty tedious, especially during rush hour. There are other more conveniently situated hotels.
