Fumba Beach Lodge
is located in the Fumba
area on the southwest coast of Zanzibar Island
off the Indian Ocean Coast
Fumba Beach Lodge is a decent quality place in an unusually remote location on the southwest coast. It is independently owned, with an intimate and personable welcome and well priced. This is an unusually verdant part of the island and the lodge is set on a huge plot, offering the chance of various wildlife encounters. Comfortable public areas include a nice swimming pool, there are 26 guest rooms of various specifications, plus a spa facility and a watersports centre. Marine activities here are extremely strong.
The main potential downsides at Fumba Beach Lodge are the fact that the beach is of lower quality compared with elsewhere on the island, the lagoon is very tidal, the area does not offer the best diving, there is no kite-surfing over this side, there can be significant visitor traffic out on the islands in high season and the lodge is too remote for many excursions around Zanzibar island.UpsidesActivitiesDownsidesSeasonsPricesTrips
