Gansbaai and Kleinsbaai
are located on the Whale Coast
in the Western Cape
of South Africa
Gansbaai is a honest little town which lies on the coast around 120km east of Cape Town
. Set around a modest commercial fishing port, it is generally of only passing interest to most travellers.
Across the peninsular to the south, Kleinbaai is a much smaller port which lays claim to being the world's centre for shark cage diving, as well as offering some of the best boat-based whale-watching off the Dyer Island Marine Reserve.Grootbos Garden Lodge
