is located in the Windhoek
area in the Southeast
region of Namibia
Set 10km off the main B1 highway around 25km southeast of Windhoek this 16 room lodge sells itself as a 'wellness village', with all kinds of spa facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, gym, sauna and various treatment rooms.
The guest rooms are large and modern, equipped with minibars, AC, TV and internet ports, as well as having extensive views out across the reserve.
The surrounding 60 square kilometre reserve has been populated with 20 large game species including giraffe, oryx and kudu. Leisurely vehicle safaris are offered.
Gocheganas Lodge may not be quite the kind of place that most people have in mind for their safari, but if you are happy in this kind of gym and spa environment then it can work well as a first or last stop on a self-drive trip around the country.
