Gorah Elephant Camp

... is located in the Addo area of the Sunshine Coast West region in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.

+ large private concession
+ restored farmhouse
+ alluring landscapes
+ important conservation project
+ high quality lodge
+ good swimming pool
+ low visitor traffic

Situated in a private concession area in the heart of the main game-viewing area of the reserve, this high-end lodge is able to offer a far higher level of safari experience than the over-busy self-drive areas. The lodge is centred on a beautiful restored farmhouse, tastefully decorated in the colonial style. Guest accommodation is in eleven extremely comfortable tented suites.

Activities are centred around game-drives, largely in the private parts of the reserve, with elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards and buffaloes all present.

- fenced reserve
- long bumpy arrival road
- self drivers allowed access by car
- high visitor volume in areas of the park
- relatively low predator sightings

Gorah Elephant Camp is a high quality lodge which carries a price tag to match. There is no doubt that the team here manages to deliver a very special experience. However you should not expect a real sense of wilderness in this Addo area. We are particularly disappointed that guests are permitted to drive their saloon vehicles to the lodge rather than leave them at the gate.
