Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort
is located on the island of Mauritius
Mauritius is a substantial tropical island set in a very remote part of the Indian Ocean to the east of Madagascar, very far removed from the safari areas of Africa, but sometimes visited in combination by people in search of large resorts with lots of facilities, notably including some major golf courses.
Set on the old Belle Ombre Sugar Estate, overlooking the beautiful coral lagoon in the St Martin area to the southwest of the island, Heritage Awali is a reasonably high quality and well priced golf resort.
The resort is colonial in style and has facilities including four restaurants, a piano bar, two large swimming pools, tennis courts, beach sports, yoga, gym, spa, salon, kiddie club and a championship golf course.
Guest accommodation is in are 158 large rooms in blocks of 6 or six, in eight different categories.
Activities include tennis, diving, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing and golf.
The main potential downsides at Heritage Telfair are the large size of the resort, the relatively busy plot, the modest beach and the potential for adverse weather Jan/Mar.
