Hoedspruit
is located in the Panorama area of the Northeast region in South Africa.

The main point of interest in this modest town is Eastgate Airport, which is served by regular flights from Johannesburg and is a major point of access for the greater Kruger area in addition to the larger airport at Nelspruit to the south.

Rental vehicle outlets make it a suitable for the start or end of a self-drive trip.

The town itself is of little interest, although it does have a reasonable array of facilities including filling stations and food and general supply stores.

Accommodation is limited since most people prefer to stay further west in the Blyde River Lower area or in the surrounding Kruger Private Reserves.
